The big weekend may have come and gone, but keep in touch as we’re always ready to get things together for next year.
Start the events with lunch at The Pointe Grill, with a drink or two to loosen up.
Teams will be drawn at "random" with slight finagling to mix up handicaps. Points will be allocated based on official scoring sheet distributed in advance as well as posted to the site.
If anyone wants a Transfusion, bring your own grape juice, they only have Blue Gatorade as a substitute, along with an 18 year old bartender that's scared Derek's going to yell at him about it again.
Our new addition to the trip. We've heard great things, as well as some horror stories. The wind is a bear, and the rough is no joke. This will test everyone's game, and will likely provide some separation in the scoring as we knock out the second round.
There may be some stiff drinks poured post-round, with the grill fired up for some grub at the cottages.
Our standard Saturday round, though there should be better results than years past. Typically this follows two jam packed rounds from Friday, but realizing we aren't getting any younger we've spaced things out a bit to only have one beatdown the day before.
The course has never let us down with it's pristine condition, and the bartenders treating us right with heavy poured transfusions and bloody mary's.
A laugh filled dinner beach side closes out the day, and sets the tone for how we go into the Championship Round Sunday morning.
Championship Round
In what used to be an early morning Friday round, where everyone was fresh off of a Thursday night kickoff hangover, we've moved this back to a Sunday Championship to cut down on the Advil and Icy Hot. There still may be some hangovers, but the early morning bloody mary's and breakfast burritos are a Tartan Taproom specialty, so eat and drink up and bring your "A" game for the Championship Round.
With the best closing hole of the weekend, it's the perfect setting to watch the final foursome close out the round as the trophies are set up for presenting. It'll be the perfect wrap-up before the short trip home and back into reality.
We will be staying yet again at the Cottages at Kilmarlic, with some games of skill and games of chance taking place nightly. Four people to a cottage, three rooms with six beds, up to you on how you want to split that.
